Kala
Pierson is a composer
and new-media wrangler. As founder and director of
unfurl.org, Kala has created or co-created work ranging
from web art to experimental film to an acclaimed theater
piece for 16 actors plus interactive electronic sounds. She
holds a 1998 B.M. in composition from Eastman School of
Music. Her music has been performed in the New York
International Fringe Festival; by Baltimore Choral Arts
Society, Cantate, and Toby Twining Music; and in juried
online galleries including Born Magazine and BetaSpace.
Kala is also a practicing performance poet, with recent
feature readings at Wordsmiths/Halcyon and Spiral Thought
Live.
